Denso Iridium Spark Plug Iridium plugs have an extremely long life as Iridium is 6x harder and 8x stronger than platinum. Because of the strength and hardness of iridium, there is virtually no electrode wear. This combined with a platinum ground electrode, creates a spark plug that is almost impervious to wear even under extreme driving or racing conditions. This review is from: Denso (3324) SK16R11 Iridium Spark Plug, Pack of 1 (Automotive) I brought these plugs to replace identical plugs in my wife's 2003 Toyota Corolla with 120K. Recommended replacement is at 100K. The original plugs were in excellent condition and could easily have gone another 20K. This is my first experience with Iridium plugs and am amazed at their performance. - I have an old pickup with standard plugs which starts missing if I don't file and regap (or replace) the plugs every 5000 miles or so. I did mine at 100k because i like round numbers. Old plugs where 100%. No difference between new and old plugs. Everthing just works. I still avg about 48miles/gallon.
These are expensive plugs but lot cheaper than my local toyota dealer. They wanted 18+tax for same plug. Using cheap stuff will not save you much.
