Did a full tune up on my B2300 truck and I went with the Bosch Platinum 4 plugs (2 per cylinder) so 8 total, Bosch Plug Wires, New Ignition Coils, new EGR Valve, and new silicon vacuum hoses. From an install perspective, not having to gap the plugs was a bonus. Essentially you open the box and install the plug. I highly recommend replacing the plug wires at the same time. I went with Bosch Plug Wires for max compatibility. As far as performance, there is definitely good spark firing in all cylinders. The motor sounds great at low idle and at high RPMs. Make sure you have the right parts for your application and you will be equally pleased. By This review is from: Bosch (4418) FGR8DQP Platinum +4 Spark Plug, Pack of 1 (Misc.) I put these plugs in my 1993 Mercedes 400E, along with new distributor caps and rotors and plug wires. (The 400E has two distributors)... This car is a bit of a pain to work on sometimes, so I wanted to put the best of everything in it. It is not a cheap car to tune up, what with the caps costing $75 each, the rotors costing $30 each, and the plug wires running $270...So with that kind of expense, $5 spark plugs are not a huge deal. Just put me at a little over $500 worth of tune up. A couple of months later, the car started to stumble and miss at certain mid throttle accelerations... Since all the ignition parts were brand new, I assumed that the day had finally come that the electronic throttle actuator had deteriorated to the point where it would need to be replaced. This part is over $1000 wholesale, and it is a major pain in the butt to replace. But I had already had to replace the entire engine compartment wiring harness, and I just assumed that the same...Read more 4 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By Joey Joe (Maine) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Bosch (4418) FGR8DQP Platinum +4 Spark Plug, Pack of 1 (Misc.) I love these spark plugs, I've been using them since the product came out upwards of 8 years ago or so (give or take). The Bosch platinum 4 spark plugs are gap-less, so no messing around with gapping. The four prongs ensure a spark every time (no misfires) and allows the placement of the spark right out at the tip of the plug for better combustion, which also allows for longer plug life with reduced carbon deposition. I ran a set of these for 6 years and never once had a misfire. In fact, the only reason I decided to change them after 6 years was due to a leaky valve cover gasket that leaked around the plugs. Over all, great product, well worth the extra money, with a quality name you can trust - Bosch! |
